'Jo's Little Women' Club
Dear Quilter,
You are invited to step back in time to join an olde fashioned gathering at your favorite Quilt Shop. 'Jo's Little Women' Club projects are only available by joining the Club at your favorite Quilt Shop or with an on-line Quilt Shop.
This is a six month Club, making small olde looking quilts and needful things.
Each project has complete directions through quilting design suggestions and binding.
Club Suggestions...
members purchase a Fat Quarter packet of Jo's fabris of approx 25 pieces so they can make their blocks scrappy and not all be alike.
Suggested shop fee - $5.00 per month, or $30 up front.
Monthly piece or applique the project from the FQ pack and purchase the additional fabric for setting, borders, backing and binding when needed.
Jo's Suggestions to the Quilt Shops...
At the monthly meetings demo a new tool or item
demo techniques described in the patterns
demo different methods of applique (hand or machine), when the project is applique
demo hand piecing for that 'take-along project'
demo hand quilting (after all most of these quilts are small - keep the tradition alive!)
demo machine straight line quilting to imitate jo's quilting directions (get them done)
offer tea, coffee and your choice of treat
encourage members to make the projects in 'their' colors
encourage fabric collecting, just because
add your own special touch for your customers
like reading 'Little Women'
sharing some Civil War History
find 19th Century recipes - appreciate the Century you live in
listen to 19th Century music
sewing ephemera
textile history is a great topic - the possibilities are endless
Members will make new stitching friends and enjoy the process of making small quilts.
Making small quilts will help you perfect your quilting skills, small quilts need more accuracy, the bonus - your big quilts will be a breeze!
Your stitching group will have a great sense of accomplishment as you will be getting projects done!
